Really enjoyed my stay here. Room was clean and bed was comfy. Great venues, equipped room and spacious for a city room. Nice staff and relatively quiet for being center of the city. Great idea for visitors and close to train lines.

My stay at the Aloft Chicago Downtown exceeded all expectations.

As a Marriott Silver Elite member, I was immediately upgraded to a higher-level floor upon arrival—a nice touch that set the tone for a great stay. The front desk staff were incredibly welcoming, making the check-in process smooth and enjoyable.

Pros:

• Convenient location: The hotel is just a 5-6 minute walk from the Red Line, making it easy to navigate the city. I was able to travel to and from the airport in under an hour, avoiding the headache of Chicago traffic.

• Dining options: There’s no shortage of restaurants within walking distance, plus the bustling restaurant downstairs adds to the vibrant atmosphere of the hotel.

• Exceptional staff: The team at Aloft went above and beyond with their friendliness and professionalism, making my stay truly seamless.

Cons: None to report! I would definitely stay at this hotel again when visiting Chicago.

Honestly, the best hotel I’ve ever stayed in while visiting Chicago. The front desk was kind and welcoming. The rooms were clean and updated. The downstairs restaurant was decent. And it was affordable. Also close to everything. My only downside was on my last day, a vagrant entered the hotel lobby and the people at the front desk didn’t even notice. He started harassing people were sitting in the waiting area where the games were, which included teenagers. I think someone went to the front desk finally to say something cause someone came over the push him out but he shouldn’t have gotten in. I understand they are busy at the check in desk but they need to keep an eye on things. Thank god the teenagers were okay. He also started yelling other things at other people who wouldn’t give him money. Just soured things a bit especially for an overall amazing stay in which I felt very safe

What a great place to stay!!! Check in is so easy and upbeat with great service by Chloe and Mercedes. Thomas is always excellent! We stay here all the time when we are in Chicago and he remembers us from previous stays. We feel like family here. rooms are clean and the location is so perfect for all the restaurants we like to go to River north

The location of this hotel is amazing. There is very little that is not in walking distance. Amazing restaurants, bars, convenience stores, the subway, Mag Mile, even Navy Pier. The service is fine. They were kind and attentive at check-in, we didn’t see anyone after that. The rooms are a good size, the bed is comfortable.

However, the rooms are tired and basic. And there was a weird smell. It’s not a nice hotel, it’s a place to lay your head. But, with this in mind, what was totally unacceptable was there was a really disruptive sound, i think from the AC, that sounds like a someone is knocking at the door. Every. Few. Minutes.

I don’t think i slept properly the whole time i was there.

We won’t stay there again. But 3 stars because you get what you pay for, and we definitely paid for the location.

Aloft Chicago Downtown River North is a stylish and modern hotel in a prime location. The rooms are clean, comfortable, and well-appointed, and the staff is friendly and helpful. The hotel's proximity to popular attractions and restaurants makes it a great choice for both business and leisure travelers. Plus, it's really close to a personal favorite, 3 Dots and a Dash.

My daughter and I booked the Aloft for one night on the eve of the Chicago Marathon, as she needed to be at the starting corral by 0530! Our room was on the top (18th) floor; it was very comfortable and quiet, making it an ideal location. The reception staff was very courteous and helpful and went out of their way to accommodate us. They were even flexible in extending our checkout time to 2:00 pm on the marathon date. Was the room worth the $550.00 per night? Obviously, with the great demand for the marathon, it is understandable that hotel rates across the city were higher than usual. But it was an ideal location, close to many great restaurants and cafes, and I would not hesitate to stay there on a future visit.

Stayed here for 3 nights in November. Everything was “smooth”. It’s quiet most of the times and everything just works. Would have loved a better view at the room, but it was ok. The zone is pretty close to everything and there are cool restaurants all around. Definitely will come back.
